Húsavík Cape Hotel is the home of the Jón Hnefill memorial folklore library. Jón Hnefill (1927-2010) was an Icelandic scholar and folklorist, and the father and grandfather of the owners of Cape Hotel.
He was a prolific author and is well known for his works on Old Norse religion and the conversion of the people of Iceland from paganism to Christianity in the year 1000. The library was opened in 2013 and offers books on folklore, religion, history and exploration.
