Akureyri is the largest town on the north coast of Iceland. The town is home to the well known Akureyri Art Museum, an international airport and a large family swimming pool. The town of Akureyri is 45-minute drive from Húsavík through the new Vaðlaheiði Tunnel, or 1 hour drive over the mountain pass Víkurskarð.
